Dr Lani Guy - Principal Dentist
Dr Lani is a Queenslander born-and-bred with her roots in the beautiful Fraser Coast region. She completed her dental studies here in Brisbane and has won several awards including being the Australian Dental Graduate of the Year. As a Brisbane local, Dr Lani enjoys exploring our lovely State with her two school aged children and mini-schnauzer. Dr Lani chose dentistry as a career because of the huge impact oral health has on our overall health; as well as our self-esteem and self-confidence.
Dr Lani has a bright and bubbly personality and will always welcome you with a smile. Dr Lani also has psychology qualifications and will go out of her way to make you feel comfortable, safe and informed. She is especially good with children, defence force veterans, anxious patients, and those suffering from chronic pain and jaw pain or living with mental health issues.
Dr Vivian Yang - Associate Dentist
Dr Vivian was born and raised in Brisbane, where her interest in dentistry was inspired by positive dental experiences as a child coupled with a deep admiration of healthcare professionals. Vivian graduated from the University of Queensland and received the Colgate Undergraduate Research First Prize for her Honours work.
Vivian hopes to instill positive and proactive attitudes towards dental visits and oral health, She has a gentle, patient-focused and conservative clinical style. Vivian understands coming to the dentist can be daunting and prides herself on her empathetic and approachable nature. Her interests include prevention, dental anxiety, crowns and restorative work, clear aligner treatment and endodontics.
Outside of work, Vivian enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including spoiling her dog, Diesel. She also loves a bright sunny day so she can head outdoors and go to the beach.
Khush Patel - Practice Manager
Khush ensures every patient feels welcomed, valued and cared for from the moment they contact the practice. With over a decade of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge, organisation and a genuine passion for helping people. She has a strong understanding patient care and practice operations and enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients, supporting the team and creating systems that help the practice run smoothly and efficiently.
Khush was drawn to We Make Smiles because of its patient-centred philosophy, commitment to education and focus on making a positive impact within the community. She believes that every patient deserves to feel comfortable, heard and empowered on their health journey.
Outside of work, Khush is a proud mum to her energetic son who reminds her to find joy in the little things. She loves being creative, exploring new music and places, and making family memories.
Karan - Dental Assistant
Karan was born in India and had been in Australia for nearly 10 years.
Karan has a passion for helping people which made her decide to change professions from a primarily retail background to the dental industry.
Karan wholeheartedly gives her all to make people feel comfortable and relaxed. She is understanding by nature, loves to have a good chat and is always eager to learn new things.
Outside of work, Karan loves spending time with her two young children, enjoys street food, making crafts and watching funny videos.
Morgan - Dental Assistant
Morgan has been a dental assistant for over 20 years, starting out in country NSW in both general and specialist practices over the years. Having developed a passion for caring and helping people on their dental journeys, she's chosen to work in a smaller practice to help ensure excellent personalised patient care which is often overlooked in the dental corporations she's worked for previously.
Outside of work Morgan is a big music buff, enjoying all genres of music, concerts and gigs. She also loves spending time with her son, anything involving food, hiking when she can and has recently taken up paddleboarding in her free time.
